Canoeing & Kayaking

We have canoes and kayaks available right on shore for our guests. You can start paddling from your lakefront cabin, and explore Nahmakanta’s 8 miles of wild shoreline ! Early morning paddling trips are a great time to see moose and other wildlife.

Kayaking for Moose

Early morning on Nahmakanta

The “Nahmakanta Headwaters” canoe trip is a nearby chain of small interconnected lakes and footpaths that makes a wonderful day trip for families (guided or unguided)

There are natural sand beaches on the shores of Nahmakanta that are so amazing our guests sometimes wonder if the clean, white sands were put there by man! (Nope! thousands of years ago by glaciers!) Our kayaking and canoeing guests love these isolated beaches for swimming, picnicking or sunbathing.                                 We also have dozens of canoes and rowboats stashed for our guests at many other area waterways for fishing, moose viewing and exploring.
